Today the FBI Director James Comey and the head of the NSA gave testimony regarding any information they could provide about any collusion between President Trump and Russia. Republicans and the President have claimed foul play saying that the Obama Administration spied on them. Meanwhile, the Democrats are determined to find out if in fact the Trump Administration was assisted by Russia to win the election. Here are three takeaways:
1. Director Comey testified that there is an active investigation ongoing about President Trump.
“With respect to the president’s tweets about alleged wiretapping directed at him by the prior administration, I have no information that supports those tweets. And we have looked carefully inside the FBI. The Department of Justice has asked me to share with you that the answer is the same for the Department of Justice and all its components: the department has no information that supports those tweets,”
2. There has been no evidence that any vote tallies in any states were compromised.
3. Comey believes US Intel is correct Putin wanted Russia to win.
According to Comey, the investigation is ongoing and Comey would not give any details. There doesn’t seem to be a timetable as to when the investigation will end. So, for now, the drama continues and we’ll just have to see how long this goes on for. Hopefully, it will end soon so we can all move on.
