A NSA leaker has been arrested and was found to be a staunch supporter of Bernie Sanders, Bill Maher and Michael Moore. Reality Leigh Winner is a 25-year-old woman who allegedly stole “Top Secret” documents from the National Security Agency and leaked them to The Intercept. She was a contractor with Pluribus International Corporation in Georgia. Her social media footprint shows that along with the liberal leaders mentioned above, she is also a supporter of other liberal causes like the Women’s March and the Islamic Society of North America, which is a Muslim civil rights group. In one recent post on Twitter, Winner referred to President Trump as a “piece of sh*t” because of his stand on the Dakota Access Pipeline protests.
In addition to her post on Facebook, she was also discovered on Twitter using the handle Sara Winners. Using that account she posted several messages with extremist views including one that sympathizes with Iran. If you wish to view these posts and more you can visit her Twitter page here.
Winner was indicted in federal court on Monday after she allegedly took classified documents from Pluribus International, a defense contractor that works for the NSA from its home base of Augusta, GA. Winner was an employee of this company. Ms. Winner admitted to the FBI that she stole the documents and gave them to The Intercept. The news site published an article on Monday that appears to be grounded in the stolen materials. The “Top Secret” information indicates that Russian agents attempted to hack into U.S. voting procedures in the November election.
Reality Leigh Winner apparently stole the classified documents on May 9th. She printed the report and sent it through regular mail to The Intercept. On May 30th, a reporter with the news outlet contacted the NSA about the documents. The NSA contacted the FBI and they dispatched agents to interview and eventually apprehend Winner at her Augusta home.
Winner has been extremely critical of President Trump. Just after he took office, she began using the hashtag, “NeverMyPresident” and “Resist” in a Facebook post.
What do you think the punishment should be for someone who is convicted of leaking “Top Secret” information? We look forward to seeing your comments about this case.
