Today multiple reports have surfaced claiming that the former national security advisor Michael Flynn has been involved in shady dealings, which were not in America’s best interest. The news from his attornies today is not helping him. The New York Post and The Hill is reporting:
Lawyers for former national security advisor Michael Flynn say he will not comply with a subpoena issued by the Senate Intelligence Committee, Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) said Thursday, according to multiple reports.
The rebuffed demand was for documents related to the committee’s investigation into Russian interference in the presidential election.
Flynn had previously offered to testify before the Senate and House intelligence committees — which are both investigating Russian interference in the election — in exchange for immunity, but it does not appear that either committee has accepted the offer.
The former national security advisor has been under multiple investigations, and according to documents released by the House Oversight Committee, Flynn did not disclose a payment of $45,000 from a speaking event in Moscow when he attempted to renew his credentials in 2016.
According to reports, Flynn’s lawyers have not released any official statements regarding this matter.
Mr. Flynn is in a lot of hot water and not cooperation with any investigation is not the way to go especially now that a special prosecutor is assigned to investigate.
