Twitter has been blowing up with the news about CNN’s Senior White House Correspondent Jim Acosta’s fake news report from last night. Acosta tweeted, “WH official on hospital visit: “President Trump did not meet with Scalise and did not go into the room where Scalise is being treated.” This was quickly proven to be completely false, and Acosta eventually deleted the tweet.
issued, Acosta admitted he never interacted with a White House official but that his information came from the White House press pool. Instead of fact checking said email, Acosta simply threw it onto Twitter in what became a very embarrassing moment.
Here's a screen grab of the TV pool report that incorrectly stated that POTUS did not see Scalise at the hospital. WH later said POTUS did. pic.twitter.com/VI4ADsepDn

This unnecessary and false report was just another example of how some in the media

needlessly attacking the President of the United States.
President Trump visited Congressman Scalise in the hospital around 10 pm. Just before 10 pm, Acosta released his Tweet claiming that the POTUS never visited Scalise. Roughly 30 minutes after Acosta tweeted, CNN released a report stating that “President Donald Trump made an evening visit to the hospital.” CNN covered that the POTUS and FLOTUS sat with the congressman and his family and brought them flowers.
Fox News also reported on Trump’s visit to the hospital saying:
“Shortly before the hospital issued its statement, President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump made a surprise visit to the hospital. A senior White House aide told Fox News that the president and first lady met with Scalise’s doctors and family, including his wife, Jennifer.”
Even President Trump released the following tweet about going to the hospital:
Just left hospital. Rep. Steve Scalise, one of the truly great people, is in very tough shape – but he is a real fighter. Pray for Steve!

Acosta’s Tweets were not backed by a single source and he eventually acknowledged that he was wrong. However, he passed blame off to the White House pool, which was a different source than his first Tweet. This is a major blow another blow to CNN’s credibility. What do you think about CNN?
