Tomi Lahren’s contentious suspension from The Blaze has now been made permanent. Lahren was suspended after making pro-choice comments on The View on March 17th. On-air, she shared her pro-choice perspectives stating, “I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government, but I think the government should decide what women do with their bodies.” Lahren’s comments sparked heavy criticism from conservatives on Twitter.
Lahren was quickly in a controversial word-war, tweeting her defense, “I have moderate, conservative, and libertarian views. I’m human. I will never apologize, to anyone, for being an independent thinker.” These comments did not impress The Blaze Chief, Glenn Beck who expresses his desire for more integrity and intellectual honesty from his host.
Glenn responds, “I would disagree that you’re a hypocrite if you want limited government and yet you want the government to protect the life of the unborn. It is very, very clear.” He adds, “But it takes intellectual honesty, and it takes a willingness actually to think these things through and to do more than just read Twitter and Facebook to get your political opinions.”
The controversy over Lahren’s comments has resulted in her permanent ban from The Blaze. One insider shared with Page Six, criticizing Beck’s reaction saying, “Glenn is reminding the world of his conservative principles by sidelining Tomi after she insulted conservatives by calling them, hypocrites.” Viewers argues that the real hypocrisy is blatant in Tomi’s pro-life remarks broadcasted only months earlier.
