Organizers have declared that more than 100,000 people marched in cities across the country on Saturday to protest President Trump’s refusal to release his tax returns. With the tax deadline approaching on Tuesday, the president is expected to maintain his refusal to release his tax information to the public. He will be breaking a four-decade long precedent that goes back to Richard Nixon.
President Trump said that he was unimpressed with the protests in cities across the country. He tweeted that, “Someone should look into who paid for the small organized rallies yesterday. The election is over!”

During a rally at the U.S. Captial, U.S. Representative Jamie Raskin (D-Md) said: “How can we determine his conflicts of interests or stop him from receiving payments from foreign governments if he won’t show us the names of the people and corporations that he is in active partnership with all over the world?”
The president expressed disbelief that this is still an issue. He tweeted later on Easter Sunday, “I did what was an almost an impossible thing to do for a Republican-easily won the Electoral College! Now Tax Returns are brought up again?”

So what do you think Red-Blue Divide? Is this an issue that is important? Are the critics right, Trump’s refusal indicates a possible cover-up of tax avoidance, financial ties to governments like Russia, or some other financial misdeeds? Or is this one great big “nothing burger,” and we should focus on more important things.
