Donald Trump Jr. sat down with a reporter from “The Daily Caller and opened up about his behind-the-scenes experience while visiting ABC’s “The View.” He was there to promote his new book “Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us.” In his comments, the president’s son said that it turns out some of the hosts weren’t so professional.
“Whoopi is a little different, there was no handshake, she would not say my last name, you saw that — even on camera,” said Trump Jr.
Trump Jr. told the Daily Caller’s Stephanie Hamill that co-host Joy Behar was much more polite to him than co-host Whoopi Goldberg, even after the contentious interview.
“Joy was actually great, she came up before, we shook hands, sort of joked around for a bit,” she was actually quite nice and respectful afterward as well.
Donald Trump Jr. also explained why he titled his book “Triggered.” The publisher initially wanted a 20-word title, but Trump Jr. said he wouldn’t have even remembered it. The author talked about the world in which we live and the social media context so easily “triggered” by contention. He then used the interview on “The View” as an illustration of his point.
He confessed that he really didn’t prep for the contentious interview, but went in knowing that he was heading toward hostile ground. He said that while he was in the green room, he did a 30 second Google search just “in case” it got shady. He simply searched “the dumbest things ever said ‘The View.’”
In the midst of the interview, he decided that he was going to have to use his information… “We going to have to go there because that’s where they are going to go,” Trump Junior said.
What do you think about the description of what went on behind the scenes according to Donald Trump Jr.?
