Former Mexican President Vicente Fox is having some fun with his angst toward President Trump. Fox announced his fake 2020 presidential campaign running against Trump in a video released on Thursday.
“Donald, every time I make fun of you, which I do a lot, people say, ‘Why can’t you be our president?'” Fox said in the video released by Super Deluxe. “America, I feel your pain, we all do. And that is why that is why today I am proud to announce my candidacy for president of the United States.”.
The former Mexican president has been a persistent critic of Trump and his agenda. He has railed against his promise to build a wall along America’s southern border and make Mexico pay for it. Fox recently bashed Trump for his decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which protects immigrants brought to the U.S. as minors from deportation.
In the five-minute video, a mariachi band was featured singing about the American president. There was also a campaign mascot: a goat wearing a sign that read, “Vicente for Presidente!” and “A taco truck on every corner!”
Fox confessed in the video, “Now, I know, a lot of you will say, ‘How can you be president? You’re a Mexican!’ And to those people I have three words: Donald, f–ken, Trump,” he said while raising his middle finger.
Fox then fired this zinger about Trump’s failure to win a major legislative victory, “I’m not even president yet, and we have both passed the same amount of substantial legislation.”
What do you think about the mockery coming from the former Mexican president? Do you think that Trump is going to respond?
