On Tuesday GOP Chairmen in the House announced a massive probe.
The Republican chairman of two major House committees say they are looking into the Obama administration Justice Department. Both chairmen will be examining what took place during the presidential election last year.
In a statement the AP reports they several questions like why did James Come publicly announce the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s but not publicly announce the investigation into Donald Trump’s associates.
Decisions made by the Department of Justice in 2016 have led to a host of outstanding questions that must be answered,” House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) said in a joint statement.
“The Committees will review these decisions and others to better understand the reasoning behind how certain conclusions were drawn. Congress has a constitutional duty to preserve the integrity of our justice system by ensuring transparency and accountability of actions taken.”
The investigations come with the revelation that Comey wrote a draft completing the investigation months before he even interviewed Hillary Clinton.
