It has been announced that next week the former FBI Director James Comey will testify at a public hearing after Memorial Day. The question everyone wants to get to the bottom of is did President Trump try to influence Comey in any way and, Democrats are looking for concrete proof of obstruction.
However, as the search for concrete evidence continues as many legal experts have pointed out: “You have to have intent in order to obstruct justice in the criminal sense,” the source said, adding that “intent is hard to prove.”
During a news conference on Thursday, the President dismissed any accusation that he tried to halt the investigation in Michael Flynn, and stated his discontent with the news of an appointed special counsel.
Yesterday, Benjamin Wittes made himself known as the “Comey Leaker” and made his rounds on the national news networks. Wittes claimed that Comey felt Trump was trying to influence him by “hugging” him and using unorthodox methods to contact the FBI.
According to TheHILL.com headline, they claim to know what the former director will say. However, when you read their article it is merely a summary of information already known, and they link to a CNN article that makes no reference to what Comey will say at the hearing. Their headline seems to be more of a wish to what Comey because nobody knows what he will say.
Plus if we take history into account there is no telling what this guy will say!
I’m sure next week leading up to Comey’s anticipated testimony there will be all kinds of speculation. Do you think anybody knows what Comey will say?
