If you like Michael Moore, you are probably going to love this story. If you don’t like him, you are going to probably be really ticked when you read this. Moore has started a new secure website called “Trumpileaks.” It is designed for whistleblowers to share information from the Trump administration.
The website features encrypted messaging apps such as Signal and Peerio, and it gives steps to follow so that leakers can send information digitally or through the mail.
Michael Moore wrote in a letter on the site that it is a “patriotic duty” to leak information that comes from the White House. “From the time you opened this letter to the time you get to the bottom of it, there’s a decent chance that our President will have violated the constitution, obstructed justice, lied to the American people, encouraged or supported acts of violence, or committed some horrible mistake that would’ve ended any other politician’s career (or sent you or I to jail). And just like all the times he’s done so in the past, he will get away with it,” Moore wrote.
This new website from Moore comes just a day after Reality Leigh Winner, a government contractor, was charged with leaking “Top Secret” material to a news outlet. Winner allegedly sent a classified National Security Agency document to The Intercept. The information indicated that Russian military intelligence launched a 2016 cyber attack on a voting software company.
The documentary filmmaker has been a very vocal critic of President Trump. Moore has been working on a new documentary called “Fahrenheit 11/9” about the Trump administration. His new site will most assuredly be a resource of information for his future projects.
