Jeff Sessions is committed to finding every last leaker in Washington, D.C. and he is mulling taking the investigation to the next level. The test would apply to the entire staff of the National Security Council (NSC), Axios reported on Sunday.
Sessions is apparently considering having every NSC staffer interrogated about transcripts that have been leaked of phone conversations between President Trump and other world leaders. It is not clear whether Sessions will actually follow through with this idea, but he has raised the possibility with multiple people, according to Axios.
Leaks have been a recurring problem for the Trump team, especially regarding the Russia investigation. In July, Trump thoroughly criticized Sessions after he formally recused himself from the Russia investigation.
Sessions announced a government-wide crackdown on leakers in August, which caused Trump to praise Sessions. No spokesperson from the Justice Department has commented on the story that Axios reported.
Do you think that Sessions would go so far as to have every staffer at the NSC take a polygraph test?
