President Trump continues to shock the American people with his unique and truthful inaugural address today. The new President of the United States delivered almost the entire speech using the words ‘we’ the American people instead of I.
President Trump’s inaugural speech was a stark difference than his predecessor. Former President Obama often delivered his speeches referring to himself more than anyone else. President Trump is a healthy change of pace. In his inaugural address, Trump mentioned himself a mere three times compared to the 45 times he mentioned ‘we’ the American people.
Not only did he barely mention himself, but the first mention came halfway through his speech. His exact words were:
The oath of office I take today is an oath of allegiance to all Americans.”
He continued not long after saying:
“I will fight for you with every breath in my body and I will never, ever let you down.
Those few words were the only time President Trump referenced himself and to the American people, we think that was needed. People seem to be fed up with politics and government and want to know they have a say. President Trump seems to understand that.
President Trump clearly desired to make the speech all about the people, but many of those came from the end of his address with a string of phrases. Sticking to his slogan, “Make America Great Again,” the President Said:
“Together, We Will Make America Strong Again. We Will Make America Wealthy Again. We Will Make America Proud Again. We Will Make America Safe Again. And, Yes, Together, We Will Make America Great Again.”
