Wikileaks is at it again with their newest threat to President Donald Trump on Sunday. The hacktivist group is attacking President Trump again for not releasing his tax returns and are saying they will release them online.
The group released their latest threat after a senior adviser said Trump would not be publically releasing his documents. Although this has been a previous accusation, Wikileaks decided to again attack our president saying:
“Trump’s breach of promise over the release of his tax returns is even more gratuitous than Clinton concealing her Goldman Sachs transcripts.”
Not only did Wikileaks say they would release his documents but they encouraged others to leak the information so they could release it. They made this comment also on Twitter:
“Trump Counselor Kellyanne Conway stated today that Trump will not release his tax returns. Send them to: https://wikileaks.org/#submit so we can.”
Why WikiLeaks decided to attack Trump again is slightly confusing seeing as the President sided with Julian Assange that officials should reevaluate their conclusion that Russia was the mastermind behind the cyber attacks that allegedly swayed the election to Trump.
In an interview with ABC, Conway reiterated why the President would not be releasing his tax returns:
“The White House response is that he’s not going to release his tax returns. We litigated this all through the election. People didn’t care. They voted for him, and let me make this very clear: Most Americans … are very focused on what their tax returns will look like while President Trump is in office, not what his look like.”
It’s no surprise that this topic came back up seeing as people are still nervous if Trump has any connections to foreign countries that would be a conflict with his position in the White House. However, Trump’s team has managed to fight back these statements saying:
“President Trump and his family are complying with all the ethical rules, everything they need to do to step away from his businesses and be a full-time president.”
