Upon his visit to France, the President made a comment that has some shaking their heads.

France’s first couple, President Emmanuel Macron and Brigitte Macron, welcomed Donald Trump and the First Lady to Paris as guests of the city’s Bastille Day celebrations taking place on Friday. The president handled the meeting in a way some are calling “bizarre.” Others are saying that he was being polite.

First, there was an awkward “vice grip” handshake that included a kiss on both cheeks. And later, when the foursome visited the Les Invalides museums, NBC released footage of a give and take where President Trump tells Brigitte Macron that she is “in such great shape” and “beautiful.” You can watch the clip below.

As you can imagine, Twitter users could not contain themselves.

This is just the most recent “bizarre” encounter from the president. Last month, in the Oval Office, the president interrupted a phone call with Irish Prime MInister Taoiseach Leo Varadkar to reference an Irish reporter. Trump said she “has a nice smile on her face, so I bet she treats you well.” And Trump created a firestorm when he remarked that MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski was “bleeding badly from a face lift.” If you go back a number of years, Trump used words like “fat” and “ugly” to describe Rosie O’Donnell.

What do you think of the way President Trump spoke to the First Lady of France? Is this a molehill made out to be a mountain?
