Recent Poll About Trump Supporters Reveals Some Interesting Information

All the heat, all the controversy, all the antagonism…yet most of Trump’s supporters are undeterred. They remain steadfastly behind the president.
About 1 in 8 people who voted for President Trump in 2016 said that they would make a different decision today according to a new poll by Reuters/Ipsos. That means 12 percent would not cast their votes for Trump if the election were being held today.
But that means that a full 88 percent of those polled who voted for Trump in November of 2016 would once again vote for him today. The poll was conducted on July 11th and 12th among 1,296 people including 541 Trump voters.
So regardless of the controversies that Trump and his team have faced in the first six months of his presidency, and in spite of the struggle that the White House has had in making progress on key campaign promises, the vast majority of his supporters remain undeterred.
Just this week, the GOP’s health care bill collapsed due to division within the party. This critically delayed the fulfillment of one of Trump’s most significant campaign promises. The failure forced Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to move forward with a plan to only “repeal” Obamacare and possibly take up to two years to figure out how to “replace” it.
And the shadow that has loomed over the Trump team from the beginning of his presidency, the alleged meddling of Russia in the election and possible collusion with the Trump team, still covers the administration with a dark cloud. Next week Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and Paul Manafort will most likely testify before a committee about any role they may have played and their attempt to gain damaging information about Hillary Clinton from a Russian lawyer.
All of this doesn’t seem to matter to most of those that supported Trump. 7 out of 8 would vote for him again today.
