Russian Kremlin Posts Photos That Tweaked the White House Press Core

It was supposed to be a closed-door meeting in the Oval Office between President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Envoy Servey Kislyak. The White House press pool, who are charged with reporting the president’s whereabouts and what happens inside the White House, were not allowed into the meeting Wednesday morning. So there were no photos taken by the White House press. But pictures have emerged of the meeting through Russian media and Russian Government social media accounts.

These Russian-sourced photos are the only public record of what was surely strategic meetings between President Trump, Tillerson and the Russian diplomats Lavrov and Kislyak. Twitter accounts held by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian Embassy provided a detailed description of highlights from the visit. They even included Lavrov’s jibes with reporters at the State Department regarding the firing of FBI Director James Comey. The Ministry tweeted a photo of a handshake with President Trump in the Oval Office, and then the Russian embassy followed that with a tweeted photo of the president shaking hands with Russian Ambassador Kislyak. Kislyak is the very person who is currently at the forefront of the ongoing Senate investigation into Russian meddling in the presidential election and possible collusion with the Trump campaign team. It has been reported that Kislyak spoke with Trump advisers before the president took office, including Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and the former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. Flynn was eventually fired for misleading Vice President Pence about his interaction with Kislyak.

What do you think about this meeting and the photos shared by Russian officials?
