It’s all over the news media…What exactly was President Trump speaking about on Thursday when standing with top military officials in the White House for a photo, he said: ”Maybe it’s the calm before the storm?”
The cryptic message seemed to come out of nowhere. While posing with leaders and their spouses from across the armed services, Trump said to reporters: “We have the world’s great military leaders in this room.” He said, “Do you know what this is?” And then he fired the words that have many asking questions: ”Maybe it’s the calm before the storm?”
The president was pressed on what he meant, so he responded: “You’ll find out.”
The president had been meeting with the military leaders and their spouses in a briefing Thursday evening. It was not clear what topics were discussed at that briefing, as it is not clear what “storm” the president was referring to.
Most people are now looking at the White House summit with top national security officials that focused on decertifying the Iran nuclear deal. This would nullify one of former President Barack Obama’s key diplomatic achievements. President Trump is expected to officially announce his decision on the Iran deal next week. This could lead to a storm.
So what do you think the president was alluding to when he spoke of “the calm before the storm?” Iran? North Korea? Hurricanes? Shake-up in D.C.? Something else?
