Donald Trump once again took a bold stand, not backing down from his campaign promises when it comes to protecting the Second Amendment.
As reported by Breitbart, Donald Trump in his 60-Minutes interview pledged that he would nominate Supreme Court justices that would be “in the mold of Justice Scalia.”
His nominees would be “People that will respect the Constitution of the United States.”
They would in his words, preserve the Second Amendment in its “strongest form.” Something that he has said was absolutely imperative.
As gun owners have seen, the federal government has repeatedly encroached upon their Second Amendment liberties, with laws and regulations designed to nickel and dime their rights to death. No one denies that some form of regulation is needed, but if the left had their way, there would be no right to bear arms.
Trump said this during his interview,
Well, there are a couple of things. They’ll be pro-life, they’ll be–in terms of the whole gun situation, we know the Second Amendment and everybody’s talking about the Second Amendment and they’re trying to dice it up and change it, they’re going to be very pro-Second Amendment. But having to do with abortion if it ever were overturned, it would go back to the states.
So, not only does Trump plan on justices that will enforce the Constitution and make sure that our rights are protected, but also justices that are pro-life. The preservation of life both before birth and during life, these are the kind of justices that this country not only deserves but also are one that this country needs desperately.
