The Ultimate Showdown: What Will Happen When Trump And Putin Finally Meet?

It’s no surprise; President Trump gave a heads-up about his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Twitter with some early Friday morning tweets. Trump promised to “represent our county well,” and also added that the two men had “much to discuss.”
The two leaders are set to meet later Friday morning in a private meeting that may just include Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and an interpreter. Putin and Trump greeted each other early Friday with Trump shaking Putin’s hand and patting him on the back.
“I look forward to all meetings today with world leaders, including my meeting with Vladimir Putin. Much to discuss,” Trump tweeted.
He added: “I will represent our country well and fight for its interests! Fake News Media will never cover me accurately but who cares! We will [Make America Great Again]!”
No one knows exactly how this meeting is going to go. Trump’s rhetoric about Putin and Russia has shifted from at times admiration to a much harder line lately. And all eyes will be on whether Trump brings up Russia’s meddling in the recent election.
In a speech on Thursday in Poland, Trump said this, “We urge Russia to cease its destabilizing activities in Ukraine and elsewhere and its support for hostile regimes including Syria and Iran, and to instead join the community of responsible nations in our fight against common enemies and the defense of civilization itself.”
Maybe the oddest point of interest in this meeting has to do with a tweet Trump sent that focuses on Hillary Clinton’s campaign chief, John Podesta, “Everyone here are talking about why John Podesta refused to give the DNC server to the FBI and the CIA. Disgraceful!” Trump said.
Trump did concede on Thursday that he believed Russia was probably responsible in election meddling, but also added that the Kremlin might not have been the only country involved.
The Trump/Putin meeting is scheduled to last 35 minutes, but that should be plenty of time for both of these larger than life leaders to create some headlines.
What do you think the headline will be after these two meet?
