Former White House strategist and Breitbart executive is keeping his word and fighting for Trump’s agenda from the outside now. He tore into Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) and the Republican establishment for actively fighting against President Trump.
Corker hit a low blow in the war of words with Trump when in frustration over the president’s foreign policy, he asked if someone “missed their shift” at the White House, which he referred to as a daycare center.
“I don’t wish him harm. Just, the volatility is, you know, to anyone who has been around him, is to a degree, alarming,” Corker said.
Bannon responded to Corker’s comments saying, ”This is what they think about President Trump behind closed doors. It’s totally unacceptable.”
Bannon noted the Sen. Corker, who recently said that he will not run again for Congress, is one of only a few “globalists” in the Republican Party who publicly criticized Trump. Bannon noted that there are only a handful of senators who actually support Trump and he plans to bankroll opponents in primaries across the nation. Bannon said he would not include Texas Republican Ted Cruz with those he fights.
Bannon reported that he is in the advanced stages of recruiting opponents for Sens. Roger Wicker of Mississippi and Orrin Hatch of Utah.
“Corker doesn’t have the guts to get back in the race,” Bannon said, predicting that the former Chattanooga mayor would have easily defeated Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), who is a supporter of Trump.
“He got out because he saw what happened in Alabama,” Bannon said of Judge Roy Moore’s victory over McConnell-backed Sen. Luther Strange (R-Ala.).
