After the announcement that President Trump was pulling back the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, former Mexican President Vicente Fox released a tirade against the United States President.
“.@realDonaldTrump canceled the future of 800,000 kids who are the cornerstone of America and didn’t even have the balls to say it himself.”
Fox was referring to the fact that Attorney General Jeff Sessions made the announcement for Trump. Sessions released the statement saying they were ending the Obama-era program which allowed young people of illegal immigrants to live in America without the threat of deportation. Session did note that the program will be revisited over the next six months in an attempt to find a legislative solution.
Fox continued his rant stating that Trump “failed America” because of his decision to end DACA:
“It is the worst action you have ever done against the ones that cannot defend themselves. This measure is cruel and heartless.”
Trump did, however, tweet that he would be eager to work with Democrats and Republicans to create new immigration reform:
“Congress now has six months to legalize DACA (something the Obama Administration was unable to do). If they can’t, I will revisit this issue!”
