It’s unusual to hear such pointed criticism of President Trump on Fox News. Neil Cavuto opened up his show, “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” by bringing up the Wall Street Journal’s brutal editorial on President Trump’s tweeting habits. The Fox News host closed his show by urging the president to realize he is hurting his agenda through his social media habits.
Trump tweeted out this message regarding the mainstream media’s (MSM) call for the president to stop tweeting: The FAKE MSM is working so hard trying to get me not to use Social Media. They hate that I can get the honest and unfiltered message out.
Cavuto spoke directly to the president at the close of his show, “Mr. President, it’s not the fake news media that’s your problem, it’s you. It’s not just your tweeting; it’s your scapegoating, it’s your refusal to see that sometimes you’re the one who’s feeding your own beast.”
Cavuto went on to say that Trump is hurting the people on his own team: “They didn’t tweet disparaging comments about a London mayor in the middle of a murder spree. You did. They didn’t create that needless distraction. You did. They didn’t get you off your very valid and very promising agenda. You did. They didn’t turn on a travel ban that you signed. You did.”
The Fox News host said that the president can complain about those who are detractors all he wants, but he warned that his social media habit will significantly hurt him and his agenda. Cavuto concluded his pointed statements by saying, “Just because your own critics never thought that you’d make it to the White House does not mean you shouldn’t listen to those who want you to thrive and succeed in the White House. They’re not the problem, Mr. President. Like I said, these days you are.”
Does it surprise you that a Fox News host would say such critical things about President Trump?
