Governor Chris Christie has been having a rough summer, first, it was the embarrassing picture of him on the beach and now this…
First Governor Chris Christie was booed at a Cardinals-Mets baseball game for catching a foul ball at Citi Field on July 18th. Christie made an impressive one handed grab with his left hand, and when the crowd saw that it was him on the big screen, they began booing.
Now at a baseball game in Milwaukee on Sunday, a video clip of Christie confronting a Chicago Cubs fan is going viral. While the New Jersey governor was ascending the stairs to go back to his seat with an order of nachos, a fan said he called Christie a “hypocrite” because “it needed to be said.”
The fan, Brad Joseph, told WISN-TV in Milwaukee that he was going up the stairs he yelled his name. Joseph said, “He was quite a bit past me, and 30 feet away I yelled his name and told him that he sucked . . . I called him a hypocrite because I thought it needed to be said.”
Joseph, clad in Cubs gear, said that the Jersey governor rushed back toward him and got right in his face protecting the tray of nachos close to his chest.
“First he told me, ‘Why don’t you have another beer?’ which I thought was a decent come back, and I thought that was kind of funny,” he told the station. “Then he started calling me a tough guy.” As you watch the encounter on the video below, you can also hear Christie sarcastically saying to Joseph, “You’re a big shot!”
Governor Christie has taken a lot of heat since he was pictured earlier this month sitting with his family on a New Jersey beach that was closed to the general public because of a budget issue.
What do you think about the way the Christie handled this fan’s criticism? We look forward to seeing your comments.
