The Republican Party has had seven years to create a better health care plan but have come up with nothing better than what they call the “skinny” repeal. This action has made House Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy extremely irritated. During an interview with Fox, he released his frustrations saying:
“Our problem is for seven years telling people what we’re against and what we’re opposed to and then we’ve had seven months to govern, and the best we can come up with is a skinny plan on 24 hours notice.”
Fox cohost Brian Kilmeade proceeded to ask Gowdy what he believed would be the next steps since the Senate’s “skinny” repeal died on the Senate floor early this Friday. Gowdy responded that the only thing they can do is go back to the drawing board because ObamaCare “is failing” and they can’t break the “fundamental promise of the Trump campaign” which called for repealing and replacing ObamaCare.
Gowdy restated his point at the end saying:
“It’s not going to be done with 24 hours notice and a bill that has the word ‘skinny’ in it.”
