Many still wonder if Ivanka Trump is doing too much in the White House, but President Trump apparently doesn’t seem to think that’s the case. In fact, he most recently sent his daughter to an advocacy for women and girls rights in Berlin, Germany on Tuesday. Ivanka has said that she hopes the event will bring more support to women’s economic empowerment objectives.
The first daughter met with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel and attended a panel discussion at the W20 Summit. The W20 Summit is a woman-focused event including 20 countries. During the event some in the media claim that Ivanka was heckled. You can watch below:
Sean Spicer, Spokesman for the White House, alluded to the panel discussion saying that Ivanka would be on a panel titled, “Inspiring Women: Scaling Up Women’s Entrepreneurship.” It’s likely Ms. Trump gained the invite after Merkel, and Ivanka quickly connected during Merkel’s White House visit.
This topic has been an important one for Ivanka long before this upcoming event. Trump recently co-authored an op-ed in Financial Times desiring for more efforts globally to invest in women:
“The evidence is overwhelming that supporting women’s economic participation has enormous dividends for families, communities, and whole economies.”
It would seem that while the First Lady is taking a smaller role during Trump’s administration, his daughter is picking up the pace. What do you think about Ivanka’s involvement in the White House? Do you think it’s too much? Let us know in the comments below!
