Watch: Jimmy Fallon Says Have No Fear DACA Won’t Be Trump’s Problem

Jimmy Fallon said he knows why President Trump made the decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and give a six-month delay. When the delay is over, “by then, it will be President Pence’s problem.”

The late night talk show host began his monologue by saying, “There’s a lot of news to get to, you guys, on one hand, we have the U.S. Open, and on the other, we have Trump saying it’s closed.”

Fallon continued, ”It was announced today that President Trump is ending the DACA program and may deport immigrants who came to the U.S. decades ago. Many people are outraged, while Melania was like, well, rules are rules! So, see ya. Take care. Sorry.”

Fallon certainly wasn’t alone in bashing the president and his decision to end DACA. NBC “Late Night” host Seth Meyers said in his opening monologue Tuesday that “Trump once again proved himself to be a liar after repeatedly assuring Dreamers that he would take care of them and treat them with heart.” Myers had banned Trump from his show while he was a candidate for president.

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel also slammed the decision, saying that “ultimately Donald Trump believes that if these kids want to be American, they have to do it the right way: by marrying Donald Trump. And it’s as simple as that.”

Stephen Colbert, the CBS late night host, has been one of Trump’s most severe critics. He fired away at Trump for not making the decision himself. “Even though his decision is unpopular, Trump bravely stepped up, then cringed back and had somebody else announce it,” Colbert said. “That someone was Attorney General and turnip-that-learned-to-hate Jeff Sessions.” Jeff Session made the official announcement for the Trump administration.
