Rachel Maddow has been a significant player in media resistance towards President Donald Trump and her recent conversation with then candidate Trump has revealed some interesting points about Trump’s administration.
The rising MSNBC force recently appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers to talk about a strange phone call that the Trump team initiated with Maddow. The call was off the record and was designed to plan for a larger interview. Maddow described the calling saying:
“I talked to him during the primaries. He was an announced candidate. I had this conversation with him … I’d sort of said he had good chances against his Republican primary opponents and we kind of dished dirt on all the things he thought was wrong with the Republican primary opponents.”
As the days went by, the larger interview planned never happened. Instead, Trump told Maddow to use the phone call exchanged even though it wasn’t recorded. Meyers, alongside Maddow, tried to distinguish the relationship between President Trump and cable news stating:
“There’s never been a president who is more addicted to news about himself and who’s more response to the news that he supposedly thinks is so worthless. So it’s a weird tension. It’s a dangerous time for the first Amendment and the free press in this country. At the same time, we’re oddly influential with the guy who wants to kill us.”
Meyers and Maddow continued their interview on Trump’s odd relationship with media but never concluded anything of substance. Do you think President Trump is really in love with himself or do you think his focus on Media has intelligence behind it? Let us know in the comments below!
