Noah Rotherman, the associate editor of “Commentary,” participated in a panel on “Morning Joe” to discuss the need for former President Barrack Obama to reenter to the public eye.
Rotherman said that Obama needs to help save the Democratic Party, despite saying that he left it “in tatters.”
Rotherman elaborated, “He has a reputation to rehabilitate. He left the Democratic Party in tatters, and he has to help re-establish that.”
He went on to address the idea that it would be a bad idea for Obama to get involved in public policy. He went on to say that that it is label Republicans as hypocrites for wanting Obama to stay out of the way.
He continued, “The notion that the will of the voter would be disrespected in this sense is frankly something that Democrats would reject when Republicans felt the precise same way in 2009 and 2010. They felt like things were going off the rails, and somebody had to speak up about it.”
Here is the full context of the discussion.
What are your thoughts on Rotherman’s comments? Do you think that Obama left the Democratic party in “tatters”? Why or why not?
Should Obama begin to make his presence felt?
