Her name is Michele Fiore who is a Nevada Assemblywoman who asserted during an interview on a local news network KLAS-8:
“I would never, ever point my firearm at anyone, including an officer of the law, unless they pointed their firearm at me. Now, once you point your firearm at me, I’m sorry, then it becomes self-defense. So, whether you’re a stranger, a bad guy — or an officer — and you point your gun at me, and I have to decide whether it’s my life … well, I choose my life.”
She also claimed that the Bureau of Land Managment (BLM) is a terrorist organization. According to local news, her comments come as she is attempting to get a nomination for an open Republican U.S. House of Representatives seat.
To put things in context when the Assemblywoman mentions BLM she is not discussing Black Lives Matter she is discussing the Bureau of Land Management. She was also instrumental in ending the standoff of the BLM building in Burns, Oregon when ranchers took the building over. She did walk here comments back:
Fiore is a huge proponent of the 2nd amendment and has called for women to be allowed to carry guns on college campuses to stop sexual assaults.
“If these young, hot little girls on campus have a firearm, I wonder how many men will want to assault them,” Fiore told the New York Times. “The sexual assaults that are occurring would go down once these sexual predators get a bullet in the head.”
While I may agree with her for encouraging women to carry a weapon on campus, I would strongly disagree with her statements about pointing a gun at law enforcement. It is apparent that she is pandering to the far alt-right.
Do you agree with her or is she out of control?
