The media is blatantly attempting to convince the public that no-one is trying to do away with the 2nd Amendment. The major problem is that John Paul Stevens, a former Supreme Court Justice, just wrote an op-ed piece that was published nation-wide yesterday. It was a glaring example of just how far those on the left may be willing to go on gun control.
Yet Christopher C. Cuomo tweeted this: “this is a lot of bunk. no one calling for 2A repeal. stop with the bogeymen. we need to stop the shootings and have a rational conversation about what can be done.”

Here is some date from YouGov that is a month old. The question was asked, “Do you favor or oppose repealing the 2nd Amendment?”
It appears that Democrats are basically split on the issue. Yes, the poll was done within two weeks of the Parkland massacre, and certainly some responded emotionally. But there must still be significant support within the Democratic Party for repealing.
In an article for “Hot Air,” the author wrote about politicians saying that they aren’t interested in repealing the 2nd Amendment. “It’s easy-ish to say no to that since (a) Americans tend to get nervous when repealing a constitutional amendment is on the table and (b) it damages the incrementalist effort to ban guns by lunging too soon for a maximalist solution. Even leftists who want the Second Amendment gone would forgive Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren — or an imperiled red-stater like Joe Manchin — for opposing repeal publicly. The most important thing to them now is to reclaim political power and a quixotic move to upend the constitutional scheme that has zero chance of success would risk that.”
Most Democrats are playing a long game on gun control. They are focused on banning “assault weapons.” 82% favor this kind of ban on semi-automatic weapons.
Lindsey Graham minced no words on Fox News, he said: “I want every Democrat asked if they agree that the 2nd Amendment should be repealed.” That would sure clear things up!
Do you believe this kind of momentum will eventually slide towards a push for a repeal?
