Watch: Trump’s Lawyer Reacts Harshly Towards CNN Anchor and It Didn’t Stop There

President Trump’s lawyer recently got heated during a conversation with CNN anchor Chris Cuomo in which the two discussed if President Trump was the focus of an FBI investigation into collusion with Russia. While repeating an argument he stated on CNN’s “State of the Union,” lawyer Jay Sekulow said the following:

“As I said all weekend, there has been no notification to any of us that the President is under any investigation and as I said, James Comey has said on three separate occasions that the President is not under investigation.”

During his interviews with “State of the Union” and Chris Cuomo, Sekulow right out denied that Trump’s recent Tweet was a confirmation. The Tweet read, “I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director!” Cuomo came back at Sekulow calling the denial “illogical”:

“To say, ‘Comey told him he’s not under investigation, so he can’t be’ — that’s illogical. What’s being said right now is that the special counsel is looking at everything, including the circumstances around Comey’s firing. Doesn’t that make sense?”

Sekulow says that because Trump hasn’t been notified of anything, any reports of investigation are false. Cuomo replied saying, “Just because you haven’t been notified doesn’t mean you’re not under investigation. There is no duty to inform you.”

The two men went back and forth, jumping over each other’s words. Sekulow eventually conceded that there is “no duty” for anyone investigating to tell the Trump administration that the President is being investigated. After getting cornered again, Sekulow tried to divert the conversation by saying, “The only reason we’re talking about this is because of what? Because of a leak from the Washington Post.”

Cuomo responded appropriately saying:

“That’s absolutely not true. That’s not why I’m asking you about it. The idea that Mueller wouldn’t be looking at the circumstances surrounding the firing of the director of the FBI defies common sense.”
