Saturday Night Live has always been one to stick a finger in the open wound of whoever might be on the losing end of the political battle. This election is no different and might even have resulted in some of the funniest political commentary in decades.
Case in point, Saturday’s skit of liberals watching the election results and the inevitable derailment of all logic. As Milo points out, all the typical liberals were present in the skit.
Check it out:
“We’re about to have our first woman president.” No one on the left thought that it was anything but inevitable that Hillary would win. Just because she was a woman. “Why are women even voting for him?” It’s shocking, but not all women like Hillary.
The skit points out, in hilariously sharp tones the things that no one on the left bothered to think about. Hillary was the inevitable winner in the eyes of the left because, after all, Barak Obama won and he’s our first black president. So, of course, Hillary was going to win because it was a woman’s turn to win.
Everyone on the left was convinced that because of the demographics of the country, a Democrat president was inevitable and would be that way for the foreseeable future.
What no one counted on, not even on the right, was that the outrage of the American people over the state of the country, the direction of the country, and the decline of the country outweighed any sense of inevitability.
Perhaps one of the most telling things was what Dave Chappelle had to say.
I’m wishing Donald Trump luck. And I’m going to give him a chance. And we, the historically disenfranchised, demand that he give us one too.
A comment from someone who I believe, truly loves this country, despite all of its faults.
