“A deranged human being” – Trump suggest Schiff suffers from mental disorder

President Trump has once again taken aim at Rep. Adam Schiff, the Democrat who has been spearheading his impeachment inquiry, and said on his overseas tour that the House Intelligence Committee chairman a “maniac” and a “deranged human being,” according to Fox News.

While in London the president spoke to reporters along with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the sidelines of a NATO summit and was asked what he hopes to learn from asking Schiff to testify, as Republicans have said they would like, at the possible upcoming Senate impeachment trial.

“I learn nothing from Adam Schiff, I think he’s a maniac,” Trump said according to Fox News. “I think Adam Schiff is a deranged human being. I think he grew up with a complex for lots of reasons that are obvious. I think he’s a very sick man, and he lies.”

Those comments came as the president is meeting with other world leaders in London about a number of issues, specifically on defense and spending on ISIS. However, when addressing impeachment The president focused on Schiff and his hyperbolic reading before Congress about Trump’s July 25th call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“I have a favor I want from you,” Schiff said in a hearing while appearing to read from a piece of paper in what he called a satirical recitation. “And I’m going to say this only seven times, so you better listen good. I want you to make up dirt on my political opponent, understand? Lots of it, on this and on that.”

The committee leader later called his account of the phone call a “joke” after republicans called him out for lying and misquoting the president in the House of Representatives.

“My summary of the president’s call was meant to be at least, part, in parody,” Schiff said according to Fox News. “The fact that that’s not clear is a separate problem in and of itself. Of course, the president never said, ‘If you don’t understand me I’m going to say it seven more times.’ My point is, that’s the message that the Ukraine president was receiving in not so many words.”
