Fox News Turns On Judge Jeanine And Hannity For Participating In Trump Rally

Fox News had some harsh words for two of their top hosts, following their impromptu speeches at a Republican campaign rally in Missouri on Monday night.

President Donald Trump called both Sean Hannity and Judge Jeanine Pirro up to the microphone during his final rally, and both had positive things to say about the president.

Pirro also tweeted her approval for the event, with an image of herself on the scene.

When he was called on stage, Hannity commented on the unplanned nature of the speech.

“Mr. President, I did an opening monologue today and I had no idea you were going to invite me up here,” Hannity said, after calling the group of journalists in the back of the rally “fake news.”

Hannity’s remarks included his endorsement of the president’s time in offices, when he said, “the one thing that has made and defined your presidency more than anything else; promises made, promises kept.”

He ended by saying, “Mr. President, thank you.”

Soon after Hannity exited the stage, the president introduced a surprised looking Jeanine Pirro, who was also asked to address the crowd.

Pirro encouraged the screaming crowd to remember the economic growth and said, “if you like the America that he is making now, you’ve got to make sure that you get out there tomorrow, if you haven’t voted yet … everyone you know … get them out to vote for Donald Trump and all the people who are running for the Republican party.”

The network called the appearance by their star hosts a “distraction” in a statement released Tuesday afternoon.

“FOX News does not condone any talent participating in campaign events,” the company wrote. “We have an extraordinary team of journalists helming our coverage tonight and we are extremely proud of their work. This was an unfortunate distraction and has been addressed.”

Hannity followed that with clarification, once again reiterating that he was not a planned guest, and that he was surprised by the president’s request.

“What I said in my tweet yesterday was 100% truthful. When the POTUS invited me on stage to give a few remarks last night, I was surprised, yet honored by the president’s request. This was NOT planned.

“To be clear, I was not referring to my journalist colleagues at FOX News in those remarks. They do amazing work day in and day out in a fair and balanced way and It is an honor to work with such great professionals.
