Jimmy Kimmel does his best to ruin Sarah Sanders’ final days with Trump

Late night host Jimmy Kimmel was harsh in his criticism of outgoing White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, whose impending departure was announced on Thursday by President Donald Trump.

Kimmel not only used the announcement to poke fun at the current administration but used Sanders maiden name, Huckabee, to springboard into some less than kind jokes at her expense.

The comedian began his comments by saying that Sanders was leaving the White House to become a professional skateboarder. “That’s true,” he said. “Or it’s at least as true as everything she said while she was working at the White House.”

“Sarah Sanders hasn’t held a press conference in three months,” the late-night host added. “So I’m not sure what job it is she’s even leaving. But she did appear with reporters today to allow the president the chance to say goodbye.”

Noting that the administration official seemed unusually happy, Kimmel said, “Look at her. Have you ever seen that face so happy before? She is literally Hucka-beaming with joy at the thought of leaving at the end of the month.”

“Is there anyone even left working at the White House?” he asked. “It’s starting to feel like one of those empty Blockbuster video stores. Maybe they’ll put in a temporary costume shop for Halloween.”

Kimmel then pivoted to a tribute to “all the Hucka-B.S. she gave us.” He then joked that “sources inside the White House” are saying “a box of TGI Friday’s loaded cheddar and bacon potato skins,” might replace Sanders.

President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that Sanders would be leaving her post at the end of the month via Twitter, a platform that Sanders has on so many occasions been asked to speak to the president’s use of, and lauded his communications officer for her years of hard work and dedication to her post.

“After 3 1/2 years, our wonderful Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving the White House at the end of the month and going home to the Great State of Arkansas,” Trump tweeted Thursday afternoon.

“She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job! I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic,” Trump went on. “Sarah, thank you for a job well done!”

“I am blessed and forever grateful to @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to serve and proud of everything he’s accomplished,” Sanders tweeted in response to the president’s announcement. “I love the President and my job. The most important job I’ll ever have is being a mom to my kids and it’s time for us to go home. Thank you Mr. President!”
