Lindsey Graham’s New Role Will Have A Huge Impact On The US Senate

South Carolina Republican Lindsay Graham is set to chair the Senate Judiciary Committee, following Senator Chuck Grassley’s departure from that position.

“I’m honored to be selected as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee. I will do my best to continue down the path charted by Senator Grassley of having a fair and vibrant committee process. The confirmation of conservative judges will be one of my top priorities as Chairman,” Graham said according to The Daily Caller.

“In addition, I will also continue to seek common ground on the major issue facings our nation. I look forward to working with Senator Feinstein and all my colleagues to make this new Congress successful,” Graham continued.

Graham has recently made headlines for his fiery exchanges during the confirmation hearings of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, going so far as to slam his Democratic colleagues.

In a recent exchange on CBS’s Face The Nation, Graham held of questions about the border wall and government shutdown.

“We’re having to negotiate with people who want to abolish ICE, not support ICE,” Graham said Sunday.

“We’re having to negotiate with people who see border patrol agents gassing children, rather than defending our borders as professional law enforcement officers. And we’re negotiating with people who will accuse all of us who support a wall as part of border security as racists.”

Graham voiced his disgust with Democrats who consider border patrol agents and other law enforcement to be the problem instead of the solution.

When questioned by the host about those individuals paychecks, and how they would continue to support themselves during the government shutdown, Graham said that government workers were “being held hostage” by Democrats who don’t want the wall.

“They’re being held hostage by people who say that you need one dollar to secure the border.”

“So you don’t want to open up the government and then continue talking?” Graham was asked.

“I do want to open up the government,” the Senator replied.

“But the goal is not to open up the government, the goal is to fix a broken immigration system, to bring reality to this table, that ICE is not the problem, it’s the solution.”

“The goal is to fix a damaged, broken immigration system, and to implement policies that Democrats have voted for in the past…”

Graham continued: “We’re not going to give into this radical left, ever, until we can find a rational way forward, where we have a border wall as part of our border security plan we’re going nowhere.
