Melania Trump ‘pleased to announce’ Sarah Sanders’ replacement

First Lady Melania Trump tweeted from her account that her spokesperson, Stephanie Grisham, would be taking the position of White House press secretary after the departure of Sarah Sanders at the end of the month.

“I am pleased to announce @StephGrisham45 will be the next @PressSec & Comms Director! She has been with us since 2015 – @POTUS & I can think of no better person to serve the Administration & our country. Excited to have Stephanie working for both sides of the @WhiteHouse. #BeBest,” the first lady wrote on Twitter.

Grisham has extensive experience, including not only working for the first lady as her spokesperson, but with previous Republican presidential campaigns.

The first lady’s spokeswoman will be filling the shoes of an outgoing press secretary that has been well loved by conservatives far and wide. Since the announcement of her departure from the Trump White House, rumors have been gaining momentum that Sanders could run for the governorship of her home state of Arkansas.

The first indication that Sanders might not be finished with public service came when President Donald Trump announced her resignation saying, “I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic.”

That same day, he said to reporters, “She’s going to be leaving the service of her country and going into the private sector, I guess you could say going back to Arkansas … If you can get her to run for the governor of Arkansas, I think she’ll do very well,” he said as Sanders stood beside him according to The New York Post.

Political strategist Jon Gilmore also pointed to a possible governor’s run sharing evidence he uncovered in a tweet:

“Lots of speculation in Arkansas today but it is interesting to note that these two websites were registered anonymously on the same day just last month in May. and #arpx #SarahHuckabeeSanders.”
