Michael Moore, a vocal liberal activist, is not happy with the Democratic Party. He went on a rant on Twitter Wednesday after the party lost in the Georgia special election for the House seat left vacant by Tom Price, the new Health and Human Services Secretary. Despite spending tens of millions of dollars, a record for an American election, and despite nation-wide support rallying a huge base to send a referendum against Donald Trump, the Democrats lost another election. That makes five in a row.
Moore is furious, along with may others, with what they deem a rudderless Democratic Party that has not forged a strategy or message in the wake of a disappointing presidential race in November of 2016. Moore criticized the Democratic National Committee and its House campaign arm for having “no message, no plan, no leaders.” More called on his 7.5 million followers on social media and the millions who watch his movies and read his books not just to sit back and let the losses continue to happen.
Liberals have turned out nation-wide for anti-Trump protests and are presently making life very difficult for GOP lawmakers already on the campaign trail for 2018, but the Republicans are still winning the elections this year. The Democrats keep reminding their constituents that so far the elections have taken place in traditionally red districts. The party still believes that the House will be theirs in 2018 because the party in power typically loses seats in midterm elections.
Moore thinks otherwise and wants the liberal base to take some sort of action right now. What do you think about his rant against the Democratic National Committee?
