Pelosi furious as Trump keeps her out of the loop on Iran

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters on Capitol Hill on Friday that she was not told that President Donald Trump planned to approve a military strike against Iran and emphasized that military action against the nation “must not be initiated” without congressional approval.

“We left with the idea that the president was going to consider some options,” Pelosi told reporters on Friday after leaving a meeting in the White House. “I did not receive any heads-up that there was a strike that was in the works.”

“Maybe the other leaders did on the Republican side, but I did not receive any of that,” she added.

The president said on Friday that officials are “cocked and loaded” to push back after an Iranian missile shot down a United States military drone that officials argued had entered the country’s airspace.

Trump, however, changed his decision to retaliate after he learned that there would likely be 150 Iranian casualties as a result of the strike.

“We were cocked & loaded to retaliate last night on 3 different sights when I asked, how many will die. 150 people, sir, was the answer from a General. 10 minutes before the strike I stopped it, not proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone,” Trump tweeted.

The president also took a shot at his predecessor, saying that, “President Obama made a desperate and terrible deal with Iran – Gave them 150 Billion Dollars plus I.8 Billion Dollars in CASH!

“Iran was in big trouble and he bailed them out. Gave them a free path to Nuclear Weapons, and SOON. Instead of saying thank you, Iran yelled Death to America.

“I terminated deal, which was not even ratified by Congress, and imposed strong sanctions. They are a much weakened nation today than at the beginning of my Presidency, when they were causing major problems throughout the Middle East. Now they are Bust!
