President Trump doubles down on ICE raids: “They’ll be starting…”

President Donald Trump is doubling down on his campaign promise to deal with illegal immigrants harshly and said he believes that the detention facilities that have been so hotly debated are “run beautifully,” according to The New York Post.

The president recently promised that Immigrations and Customs Enforcement would begin to crack down on illegal immigrants by rounding them up and sending them back to their home countries.

“I don’t call them raids. I say they came in illegally and we’re bringing them out legally. They’ll be starting fairly soon,” Trump said according to the Post. “We’re removing people that have come in, all of these people over the years that have come in illegally, we are removing them and bringing them back to their country,” he said.

The president was not all down, however, he praised Mexico for working to slow down the band of migrants that have been streaming into and camped outside of the United States, seeking entry.

According to the president, the facilities where the illegal immigrants are kept “are incredible.”

“I’ve seen some of those places and they are run beautifully,” the president said of the detention centers.

“They’re clean, they’re good, they do a great job,” he said. The president went on to blame Democrats for any bad conditions that the Department of Homeland Security’s in-house watch group had slammed in their report earlier in the week.

“They’re crowded because the Democrats will not give us any relief from these loopholes. We have loopholes that are so bad. We have asylum that’s so bad,” Trump continued.

“So these places — many of them, not all of them, but many of them are incredible. They’re really well run. Border Patrol and ICE are doing a great job. I think they do a great, [job] with those facilities.”
