Stormy Daniels was invited to give a talk at the Oxford Union on Thursday on the benefits of porn. The adult movie star, who claims to have had an affair with President Trump in 2006 and was paid to keep it quiet before the election, spoke with students in the packed chamber.
She titled her talk “Sex, Guns & Other Fluff: How Porn Can Set You Free.” She said that porn stars must not be stigmatized for their work. Daniels noted that the porn industry is good for women because “it is the only profession I can think of where the women earn double that of the men.”
This speech came on the heels of her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, being arrested on Wednesday for alleged domestic violence. An unidentified woman filed a criminal complaint against him in Los Angeles. Avenatti denies any violence and claims his arrest was a set up.
Avenatti, who posted $50,000 bail on Wednesday, has remained confident of his innocence.
“I have never struck a woman, I never will strike a woman,” Avenatti told reporters. “I have been an advocate for women’s rights my entire career and I will continue to be an advocate. I am not going to be intimidated from stopping what I am doing.”
Stormy Daniels released a statement on Thursday, saying the allegations were “serious and obviously very troubling.”
“But right now that is all they are: allegations,” she added. “I do not condone violence against women and if these allegations prove true I will be seeking new representation.”
According to sources, Avenatti and the woman had a confrontation on Wednesday. The woman was allegedly seen running out of the apartment and screaming into her cell phone. She was wearing sun glasses to conceal the bruises on her face.
“I can’t believe you did this to me,” she reportedly yelled into the phone.
Security guards then led the woman back inside the building. Five minutes later, Avenatti showed up and ran into the building, chasing after her.
“She hit me first,” Avenatti is reported to have said repeatedly. “This is bulls***, this is f***ing bulls***.”
