Trump’s approval rating suddenly drops as Americans fear economic downturn

President Donald Trump’s approval rating was reported at 38 percent in the latest Gallup poll, which is down from their reported 44 percent in July.

According to the same poll, 56 percent of those polled said that they disapproved of the president’s job performance, however, according to the RealClearPolitics, the president’s approval rating is at 44 percent for July, and dropped down to 39 percent in it’s latest poll.

RealClearPolitics showed that they found the president’s overall approval rating to be at 43 percent, however, a Washington Post/ABC News poll showed that some voters have economic concerns for the upcoming election.

According to TheDailyMail, the ABC poll showed that six out of 10 respondents were concerned about a trade war with China raising prices of everyday products, and one third are “very concerned.”

While the Trump administration has pushed back against any insinuation that their economic movements could be detrimental to the nation’s economy, according to the DailyMail, the way the president handled negotiations with Beijing caused the majority of those polled anxiety, with 56 disapproving of the negotiations and 35 percent approving of his work.

“The escalating trade war, where both has raised tariffs on each other’s goods, could see rising prices for clothes, shoes, sporting goods and other goods ahead of the holiday shopping season,” the DailyMail reported.

The president responded to these polls, calling out the media, saying that they are using them as a scare tactic against him:

:One of the greatest and most powerful weapons used by the Fake and Corrupt News Media is the phony Polling Information they put out,” Trump tweeted on Tuesday. “Many of these polls are fixed, or worked in such a way that a certain candidate will look good or bad. Internal polling looks great, the best ever!”

The president also cited ABC’s poll specifically, calling it the “most inaccurate poll” since the 2016 election:

“ABC/Washington Post Poll was the worst and most inaccurate poll of any taken prior to the 2016 Election. When my lawyers protested, they took a 12 point down and brought it to almost even by Election Day. It was a Fake Poll by two very bad and dangerous media outlets. Sad!”
